Maike Coelle develops concepts and stories for computer games, interactive installations and transmedia. As a script consultant, she evaluates film scripts for European media funding institutions, screenwriters and film producers.
After her studies of media and communications (GWK) at the University of Fine Arts in Berlin, she started her career in the media industry as a project manager for éQuinoxe, an international workshop programme for talented screenwriters founded by Jeanne Moreau. In 2005, she became a freelancer as an author and dramaturg for audiovisual media.
Her passion for trans- and interactive media led her to the Berlin-based game developer and producer kunst-stoff in 2007. Together with the kunst-stoff team, she has since then developed and marketed award-winning computer games, such as „Galaxy Racers“ for Nintendo DS (2010, publisher: Ubisoft), which won the German developer award as Best Childrens’ Game, and the multiplatform game series „The Great Jitters“ (2011, publisher: kunst-stoff GmbH; red dot design award, Mobile XP Gold Award, Pocketgamer Gold Award).
For her concept development at the „Academy for Childrens’ media“ in 2007/2008, she received the subsidy award of the Central German Media Fund (MDM) for the Best Childrens’ Media project.
Besides her work in interactive media, Maike enjoys reading hardcover novels, playing the piano and being the mother of a 2-year old daughter.
